Xuxa rebels with Mara Maravilha after she uses the term ‘mentally weak’ in ‘Ilariê’

by

The presenter Xuxa Meneghel, 58, was angry with Mara Maravilha, 53, after she made a parody of the song “Ilariê” at Ratinho (SBT) last Monday (8). At the time, he used the term “dead mental” to refer to those who have listened to the Rainha dos Baixinhos album.

At the attraction, Mara asked Mouse for permission to show her version of the melody. “It’s time, it’s time, for the brainwashing. I got an album by Xuxa and I became mentally retarded”, she sang.

At the time, both the presenter and Sérgio Mallandro defended Xuxa and said she would be angry. And that’s what actually happened.

In a comment on a post on social media, Xuxa said he felt sorry for Mara. “When I heard that, I put myself in the shoes of a person with special needs. And I swear I was sad. How does a person who worked for a child say that?”, he began.

“For me, ok. It just makes me feel more sorry for her. But for the children and people with a degree of intellect who are ‘in that expression’. It’s just ugly”, posted Xuxa.

MARA ASK FOR FORGIVENESS

With negative repercussions, Maravilha resorted to her networks to ask for forgiveness for what she called an unfortunate mistake. In a big way, he began by portraying himself to everyone who felt hurt.

“I unintentionally pronounced ‘mentally weak’. I was wrong, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. To represent art, communication and the public’s imagination is precisely to recognize that we have great responsibilities to what we propagate daily with good or bad examples”, he wrote.

Even with the so-called freedom of expression, she adds, “I agree that I was unhappy in the excitement of entertainment.” Mara reinforced that people with special needs still face barriers and obstacles in life and that the moment, for her, is one of learning.

“Humility and resilience to understand how this error can bring lessons for mine and our journey. Sad with me, I was unhappy, before being an artist I am a human being,” he concluded.
