Sofia Vergara has opened up about her difficult divorce from Joe Manganiello.

Last July, the 51-year-old star and 47-year-old Manganiello decided to separate after seven years of marriage.

Speaking to CBS Sunday Morning, Vergara said she expected a media frenzy after news of their split broke.

“You’re out there and people know that’s part of being famous,” he commented.

“I knew it was going to happen. You can’t hide these things.”

However, she noted that the news coverage of her divorce was ultimately accurate and clear, which made it easier for her to “get through” the difficult period.

“I think, you know, I have to say the press has been very respectful and very nice. And I thought more things would be invented and you know how it usually goes.”

“I was surprised and, you know, they just said what it was and that was it,” he added.

Vergara and Manganiello released a statement to Page Six exclusively about their decision to separate in July 2023.

“We made the difficult decision to separate”
