Despite his monumental achievement, the 76-year-old artist was unable to make it to Los Angeles due to recent knee surgery
During last night’s glitzy Emmy Awards ceremony held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the Elton John (Elton John) completed his personal collection of awards.
The British artist won his first Amy and joined the so-called “club EGOT» – meaning he now has an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony.
Congratulations to Sir Elton John, competitive EGOT winner number 19!

Sir Elton John won the award for “Excellent Variety Special (Live)” for his concert film “Elton John Live:Farewell From Dodger Stadium,” where the British artist played his last concert in North America.
Elton John has secured an EGOT, becoming the 19th person to win all four major entertainment awards: an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. He won an Emmy on Monday for his livestreamed farewell concert at Dodger Stadium. https://t.co/LVagD0zWr7 pic.twitter.com/Ke2GjQUpsv

But, despite his monumental achievement, Mr 76 years old artist was not in person in Los Angeles to receive the award, due to the recent intervention on his knee.
The acceptance speech was given by the film’s executive producer Ben Winston and his award was accepted by his smiling husband David Furnish.
Elton John became just the 19th artist to win all four awards in competitive categories, although six other people have entered the EGOT club through honorary awards.
