Monaco has always been the most glamorous and scandal-prone “jewel” of the Mediterranean. But the claims that his “playboy” monarch, Prince Albertmaintained a separate bank account to pay his ex-mistress and the children he had out of wedlock – and that his wife, Princess Charlenewent on a reckless spending spree, with her family also on the payroll — some of the most potentially damaging revelations turn out.

All of the above information, as the “Daily Mail” writes, was revealed by a former accountant who spent more than two decades at the heart of the Monaco royal family before being summarily dismissed last year.

Claude Palmero he took notes and excerpts from them are published in two French newspapers. According to Palmero’s notes, Princess Charlene, who is 20 years the prince’s junior, regularly received an allowance of around £1.2m a year, but was particularly wasteful.

In fact, in 2017, it reportedly cost more than £500,000! Two years later, the speed with which Princess Charlene spent the money so alarmed the prince’s accountant that he wrote in his notes: “It ‘s crazy! I have no control over the princess’s expenses.’

Princess Charlene, a former champion swimmer who grew up outside Johannesburg, spent nearly £2m renovating a Corsican country house and her office, Palmero said. She also claimed that she rented another house on the French island where she spent time apart from Albert.

Palmero’s notes they also show that on one day in April 2016, he asked for £60,000. On another occasion, in 2020, Palmero recorded a one-off payment to Charlene from Albert of £171,000, as well as £4,200 in cash.

Meanwhile, Charlene’s family, especially her brother Sean, with whom she runs a charity, has also benefited from husband Albert’s spectacular generosity, with Sean receiving £786,000 to buy a house in 2022. He now runs a cafe in Monaco.

Prince Albert’s chaotic personal life appears to have taken a toll on his wealth, according to Palmero. The head of Monaco’s ruling Grimaldi dynasty since 2005, Albert is the only son of Prince Rainier III and former Hollywood star Grace Kelly. He has two children out of wedlock, whom he has acknowledged, by former flight attendant Nicole Coste and American real estate agent Tamara Rotolo.

According to “Le Monde”, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi receives 73,000 pounds every three months, despite the fact that she is not a member of the royal family. Palmero said she was given £4,200 on her 18th birthday and a £2.6m flat in New York seven years later.

“Libération,” another of the French newspapers Palmero spoke to, reported that the prince had an account with the French bank BNP. The newspaper reported that the account was used to pay Alberto’s former lovers and their children, without his wife’s knowledge. Prince Albert married Charlene in 2011.

And the revelations continue… According to Palmero, Charlene employed nannies and other domestic staff who were illegal immigrants or living illegally in Monaco.

In December 2014, Charlene gave birth to the twins and immediately entrusted their care to nannies, who were also illegal. In a statement to Le Monde, the prince’s lawyers said that if money was paid to illegal immigrants, it was Palmero who authorized the spending.
