In July 2022, Gisele posted a series of photos on Instagram for her mother’s birthday
The former top model is in mourning Gisele Bundchen as on Sunday her 75-year-old mother breathed her last.
Giselle’s mother was being treated for cancer at the Moinhos de Vento hospital in Porto Alegre, which issued a statement without specifying the exact type of cancer.
“Moinhos de Vento Hospital announces the death of Vânia Maria Nonnenmacher Bündchen today, Sunday, January 28, due to cancer. At the age of 75, Vânia Maria Nonnenmacher Bündchen was admitted to the Moinhos de Vento Hospital on January 26,” says the statement signed by doctors Luiz Antônio Nasi, Pedro Isaacsson, Rodrigo Valle and Paola Morandi.

Family members of Vânia, who was a retired Brazilian bank employee, mourned her loss on social media but so far, Gisele Bundchen has not made any post about her mother’s death.
The supermodel and her mother were very close. In July 2022, Gisele had posted on her personal Instagram account a series of photos for her mother’s birthday, in which she wrote:
“I am eternally grateful for everything you have done and continue to do for us. Thank you for always loving us, inspiring us and teaching us so much. Thank you for life! I love you very much”.
Besides Giselle, Vânia had five more daughters with which the supermodel had recently uploaded a rare photo of them.
