Selma Blair, known for her roles in “Legally Blonde” and “Everything to Stay with Him”, shared with her fans her daily life living with multiple sclerosis and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. In a video she shared on her social networks, the 51-year-old actress reports feeling pain all the time.
“Aging hurts, you have to stretch, but I can’t stretch because of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome,” he said. “By the way, I discovered that a lot of people have it. If I try to stretch, I end up hurting myself. But it’s nothing scary or horrible, it’s just something I need to be aware of”, she reports.
“As for multiple sclerosis, I’m fine, still in remission, I feel tired and exhausted all the time,” she reported, showing that she had an attack on her arm.
“I’m doing well, but I’m tired. When people ask me what I want to do with my life, I feel sad, because all I want is to sleep and get better”, she said. “I’m a beginner every day. It’s like Groundhog Day. I’m fine, I can’t complain, but I don’t know if I’ll ever have the coordination, balance or energy I want to have,” she says.
“But I’m still lucky, I’m still grateful, I’m still okay. But it still sucks,” concluded the actress.
In the comments, Selma received support from fans and messages of gratitude from others who share neurological conditions like hers.
“Thank you for using your platform to normalize invisible disabilities. Much love to you,” one fan wrote.
“You are beautiful, fierce and brave, even when you feel sad, vulnerable and unwilling to continue,” wrote another follower.
In 2022, the actress had to give up the reality show “Dancing with the Stars”, the “Dance of the Celebrities” in the USA, because of the illness.
