Philip reportedly used a rather derisive nickname for Meghan Markle, according to book by royal biographer Ingrid Seward
Tea and… dislike of the British royal family. THE Prince Philip reportedly used a rather derisive nickname for her Meghan Markle, according to an excerpt from a forthcoming book by royal biographer Ingrid Seward.
Philip, who died in 2021 aged 99, reportedly called Markle “Duchess of Windsor” – a vitriolic reference to the title also held by the American Wallis Simpson, who had come under heavy fire as a member of the royal family…
Simpson, who was divorced, married Edward VIII in 1937 after he abdicated the British throne following the scandal.
Philip considered it “unnatural” how much Markle reminded him of The Simpsons, Seward claims in her new book, My Mother And I.
“She wasn’t just referring to the fact that they were both thin, dark, glamorous American divorcees,” she writes.
Like Simpson, Markle she was also divorced before meeting Prince Harry in 2016.
The former actress was married to film producer Trevor Engelson from 2011 until their split in 2014.
According to the book, the queen elizabeth he initially treated Markle much better.
She reportedly ‘approved’ of the actress after Harry introduced her to her in 2017.
However, she thought the wedding dress she wore to her wedding in 2018 was… “too white” because she had already been married once before.
