Winner of the eighth season of A Fazenda, on Record, and actor in series such as “DNA do Crime”, on Netflix, Douglas Sampaio asked for a retraction in court against Globo. He accuses the broadcaster of treating him as if he had been convicted of two counts of assault he suffered.
In 2018, actresses Rayanne Morais and Jeniffer Oliveira, Sampaio’s ex-girlfriends, accused him of assault. Both cases were investigated.
Both the Civil Police and the Rio Public Prosecutor’s Office ruled on his innocence, citing a lack of evidence to incriminate him. Jeniffer was even ordered to pay compensation of R$10,000 to Douglas in 2019.
Last Friday (17), Douglas Sampaio made a video on Instagram stating that he had gone to court against the broadcaster, but not asking for any financial compensation. He wants compensation for reports shown during the period of the accusations.
In the June 26, 2018 edition, the afternoon news program now led by César Tralli aired an article about the complaint made by Jeniffer Oliveira, who at the time was working on the youth soap opera “Malhação: Vidas Brasileiras” (2018).
“I appeared in Jornal Hoje as an aggressor, as if I had kicked Jeniffer and done everything she accused, which was proven not to have happened”, he complains.
Douglas says he was harmed in his personal life and career. “I got into drugs. I tried to kill myself. It’s hard to say, but it’s necessary to understand the extent to which a lie can harm someone,” he concluded.
Sampaio reports having received threats and spending some time without leaving home out of fear. “I was insulted, I was called a monster… Then we start to lose ourselves, lose our identity, I didn’t know who I was anymore. I tried to kill myself a few times… I punched myself, I punished myself for something I didn’t I did”.
Globo does not comment on legal cases. O F5 tried to contact Rayanne Morais and Jennifer Oliveira, but there was no response until the last update of this report.
