According to an exclusive report by “Variety” magazine, Mr George Lanthimos will team up again with Element Pictures to remake the South Korean fantasy comedy “Save the Green Planet”.
The Greek director, who is currently riding high on the success of Poor Things – which is nominated for 11 Oscars and has just won five BAFTAs (including Best Actress for Emma Stone) – is expected to start shooting the film in the UK and New York this summer.
It’s a wacky black comedy starring a disillusioned young man who captures and tortures a businessman, whom he believes to be part of an alien invasion. A battle of wits ensues between the kidnapper, his devoted girlfriend, the businessman and a private detective.
