Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment is in negotiations for a new film of his Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu by Tom Cruise in the leading role.

The currently untitled film project will be Iñárritu’s first English-language film since the film “The Revenant”.

The film will be produced and directed by Iñárritu in a script he wrote in 2023 with “Birdman” co-writers Nicolas Giacombon and Alexander Dinelaris and Sabina Berman. Plot details are yet to be revealed.

It will be Tom Cruise’s first film after signing a film development and production deal with Warner Bros. Discovery in January.

His last collaboration with the studio was the film “Edge of Tomorrow” a decade ago.
