Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment is in negotiations for a new film of his Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu by Tom Cruise in the leading role.
The currently untitled film project will be Iñárritu’s first English-language film since the film “The Revenant”.
The film will be produced and directed by Iñárritu in a script he wrote in 2023 with “Birdman” co-writers Nicolas Giacombon and Alexander Dinelaris and Sabina Berman. Plot details are yet to be revealed.

It will be Tom Cruise’s first film after signing a film development and production deal with Warner Bros. Discovery in January.
His last collaboration with the studio was the film “Edge of Tomorrow” a decade ago.
More recently, Cruise appeared in the films ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning’ and ‘Top Gun: Maverick’. The actor and producer’s upcoming projects include the eighth installment of the “Mission: Impossible” film series for Paramount, as well as a Universal action film from Doug Liman that will make him “the first citizen to spacewalk” outside of space.
