More than 25 Rolling Stones photos from the archive of one of the photographers and their assistants, which were lost and found again are to be exhibited in London.

The exhibition “Elegantly Wasted” includes camera footage of Tony Sanchez, whom the band’s guitarist Keith Richards affectionately called “Spanish Tony”.

The photos were previously thought to have been lost, but were rediscovered decades later in an attic in south London.

The organizers of the exhibition said that the 27 limited edition printswhich are up for sale, demonstrate Tony Sanchez’s “unprecedented access” to the band and are “one of the most important Rolling Stones photographic archives to be made public in years”.

The photos capture the period when the band was recording the Beggars Banquet albumcreated the documentary the Rock and Roll Circus and went into self-imposed exile in the south of France due to tax problems.

The collection features rock legends, according to the BBC, at parties, posing for album cover shoots and during live performances, including their concert in Hyde Park.

The exhibition at the J/M Gallery in London is organized from 29 February to 5 March by Oliver Bayliss of Bayliss Rare Books Ltd. and Spanish Tony Media, founded by the grandchildren of Tony Sanchez.
