In the coastal district of Palaio Faliro, we are guided by Dimitris Skarmoutsos with the “Neighborhoods in Piato” the Saturday 02 March at 16.45.

It is located on the southern side of the prefecture of Attica and is a municipality known since ancient times which took its name from the local hero Faliro. Wealthy families who wanted to be close to the sea built their mansions here in the early 1900s and it remains a particularly beloved neighborhood.

The tour starts from “Sweet Melek” with the multiple status of Patisserie-Cafe-Teaser. Savory and sweet urban flavors in an environment that feels more like a home than a shop.

Among the proposals that stand out are the handmade mandi, the aromatic meatballs and the freshly baked kiunefe.

Next is “Seoul House”, the oldest Korean restaurant in Athens offering unique flavors for 40 years. What are the differences with Chinese or Japanese cuisine? What exactly is Korean barbeque? In Korean cuisine, all the dishes are placed in the middle for the group to share in a special ritual. Kimchi, handmade tofu and delicacies that take us on a journey.

The tour of Paleo Faliro concludes with a stop at ‘Da Bruno’, a traditional Italian restaurant that has been a fixture in the area since 1985. Authentic recipes from the North and South of Italy with excellent pasta and abundant meat and seafood options.

Returning to the studio, Dimitris Skarmoutsos prepares two excellent recipes Barley with chicken gyro and pork brisket with potatoes, peppers and yogurt.
