With a post on Instagram, the wife of Bruce Willis (Bruce Willis), Emma Heming (Emma Heming) responded to a recent article about the health of the famous actor, who suffers from frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.

“While I was surfing the internet I saw an article about my family. The title basically said there is no more joy in my husband. I can just tell you that this is far from the truth,” said Hemming, with a video on her personal account.

“I want society – and whoever writes these stupid headlines – to stop scaring people. Stop scaring people into thinking that once they get a diagnosis of some kind of neurocognitive disease, that’s it. ‘It’s over’…No, it’s quite the opposite.”

He then admitted that while there is “a lot of sadness and pain”, “a new chapter is starting where there is “love, connection, joy and happiness”.

“This is where we are,” he added. “So stop these stupid headlines. Stop doing that.”

Hemming also encouraged the media to be more “careful” about what they write about dementia, writing in the caption: “Two things can be true and exist at the same time. Grief and deep love. Grief and deep connection. Trauma and resilience. I had to go out of my way to get here, but once I did my life started to make sense and I had a real sense of purpose. There is so much beauty and soul in this story,” she wrote.

“What I realized is that we are being trained by the wrong people. Who have an opinion but no experience. People who have not taken the time to properly educate themselves about any type of neurocognitive disease. Why can I be so bold and say these things? Because I see one headline after another and misinformation reports.”
