Rest (in peace): Office chairs in the shape of…coffins

Or lower or (even) lower. Office chairs in the shape of…coffins inspired a designer with the aim of resting (in peace?).

The exterior design of the chair takes its design cues from coffins, following the shapes and lines of a typical coffin, while the interior appears to be made of wood, and it’s debatable how…comfortable it is.

The brain” behind the coffin chair is a British designer with the nickname “Chairbox”, and the real name of his inspiration is “The Last Shift Office Chair” (Last Shift Office Chair). The designer said the inspiration behind the coffin office chair came to him when he was in his friend’s living room lying on the floor with his feet on the sofa.

“I thought if I die in this attitude, I might have to be buried like this. It would be so uncomfortable to be put in a coffin. They would probably need a special casket in that case. I told my friend about it and we laughed, but after a few weeks, I came back to this idea and explored it a bit more. Later, I made a 3D model in CAD software and published it online,” Chairbox told designboom, who was inspired by work of René Magritte.

Is this an indirect message from the creator about the pension? Will we die working? However, the interior comes in various colors for the best possible experience, postmortem or not.
