Shakira stated in an interview that her marriage to her ex, Gerard Pique, didn’t help her career. The famous singer said she feels her career has been “reborn” after splitting from the footballer in 2022.

Speaking on Zane Lowe’s ‘Apple Music’ show, Shakira revealed she had ‘a love-hate relationship’ with her career during those years – while she was with the footballer and having their children – saying:In a way it’s good not to have a husband, because he dragged me down.”
And he continued: “Now I love working, writing songs, making music, it’s just a need they didn’t have before.” She also added that she tries to balance career and home as a single mother, a situation that has changed and become more demanding.
“I’m responsible for these two children, these two babies who depend so much on me and I’m a single mother, I don’t have a husband”he pointed out.
