Stephen Fry revealed that he had started taking Ozempic to lose weight, but had to stop as the drug caused him to vomit up to five times a day.

The 66-year-old actor and comedian said he got the drug – a treatment originally designed for people with diabetes – from his doctor in the US some years ago.

Speaking on the ‘River Cafe Table 4’ podcast, Fry described how the first week he took Ozempic he saw “amazing results”, leading him to believe he had found a “brilliant” solution to his weight loss efforts.

It is worth noting that the actor was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018. “I happened to be in America and had read about it. I asked my doctor and he said: ”I think I can get you the medicine”. I tried it and the first week I was thinking, “this is amazing”. Not only do I not want to eat, but I also don’t want to drink alcohol of any kind.

Then I started feeling sick and as time went on I felt worse. I was literally throwing up four, five times a day and I thought, “I can’t do this.” So that was it”the actor added.
