Whether on a stage with an audience, on a YouTube channel or in a swimming pool interviewing people, Fernanda Paes Leme didn’t stop working for a second during her pregnancy.

The presenter, who is preparing to welcome her first daughter, Pilar, in April, had a busy pregnancy full of projects. She spent practically nine months in front of the cameras, contrary to the belief that pregnancy means a reduction in work rate.

In April, Fernanda debuts on GNT the program Quem Não Pode Se Sacode, a spin-off of the podcast she runs with Giovanna Ewbank, Quem Pode, Pod. The episodes were recorded in the final stretch of the pregnancy.

The actress and presenter is certain of the creative potential she unleashed during her pregnancy. “I felt very confident, as a woman, in being able to show that we can, indeed, work while pregnant, as mothers, and make a difference in our profession, whether in a hospital, in an office, in the kitchen or on a TV show. We do the economy spins”, he says.

“I’m very grateful to the channel for trusting me and hiring me to do two programs while pregnant. We know how much risk we took, but it’s a privilege to lead this huge program alongside Gio and with such an advanced pregnancy. We made history”, he continues.

In the first trimester of her pregnancy, Fernanda recorded episodes of Quem Pode, Pod with Giovanna Ewbank. Between the fourth and sixth months, she presented Na Piscina, also on GNT. “It’s really special to have my entire pregnancy recorded. I’m going to show my daughter how much she shook herself!”, she jokes.

The friendship between Fernanda and Giovanna was also strengthened during the recordings. Giovanna couldn’t hold back her tears when talking about the special moments shared with her friend behind the scenes.

“I was very concerned about FePa [apelido de Fernanda]. She wasn’t worried about herself, but I was,” said the colleague. “It was so special to have spent this end of pregnancy with her, because we exchanged so much about her desire to get pregnant, to be a mother, the difficulty . Being with her in this final stretch was very special.”

“Fernanda is very excited, we finished the program and I wanted to lie down on the studio floor, and she was like: ‘Come on, let’s record!'”, says Giovanna, who forced her friend to take breaks to eat.

NO HEELS

Fernanda also spoke about the challenges of adapting the glamorous looks that a program with an audience requires from a baby with a baby bump of almost nine months. “The production was grander and more elaborate than that of Na Piscina. It was costumes, makeup, hair, there was an audience, there were more guests, I had to stand for a long time. I wanted so much to wear heels!”, he confesses.

“But I had to discover myself in this new body,” he says. “We often associate this thing with being on a leap to feeling more powerful and confident. It was interesting to have to make these new discoveries.”

“Having an audience means we got along well. We reached another level as presenters”, celebrated the almost-mother.

Quem Não Pode Se Sacode premieres on April 23rd and will be shown on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 10:45 pm, on GNT. Among the guests are Drica Moraes, Preta Gil, Chay Suede, Heloísa Perissé, Diego Martins, Luis Miranda, João Vicente de Castro, Lore Improta, Mariana Gross, Juliette and Pocah.
