Three years after the death of the United Kingdom’s Prince Consort, Philip Mountbatten, the English learned of the will of Queen Elizabeth II’s husband (1926-2022). He made it clear that one of her favorite grandchildren was not one of the two sons of the firstborn, King Charles III (William and Harry). The person who received a large part of Philip’s fortune was Lady Louise, heir to the youngest Prince Edward.
Louise won the ponies and carriages from Philip, known for his love of riding. According to the MailOnline website, the prince consort assigned his granddaughter the task of regularly exercising his ponies — Balmoral Nevis and Notlaw Storm — in Windsor.
The young woman, now 20 years old, appears 16th in the line of succession to the throne, behind her brother James, 16, as both were born before the law of 2013, which put an end to the prevalence of male heirs over women in the family.
According to The Sun newspaper, Louise also received a sum of money, but it is not known how much she would have inherited. The figures for William and Harry were not disclosed. However, the British press reported that Meghan Markle’s husband received more than his brother, “as William would benefit financially from becoming King of England” as number 1 in line to the throne after Charles III. Philip died at the age of 99.
