In the broadcast of Sunday, April 7, Aris Portosalte and Mr. Pericles Vallianos, emeritus professor of Political Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, analyzed the first part of the American revolution. But before analyzing the American revolution, they introduced the events that preceded the revolution in mid-17th century England, the Puritan immigration of the 1620s and 1630s to North America, and the creation of the colonies, the way of life, trade and the relationship with the Crown. In addition, they made an extensive reference to the reign of Charles I and the civil war that began in 1640, what was Oliver Cromwell’s role in the English revolution and how the English monarchy developed. An important role was played by the first conflicts that define the American revolution, the colonial crisis and the path to the revolution.
