Margot Robbie is set to partner with Hasbro Entertainment for a new movie based on the board game ‘Monopoly’.

The star of the Oscar-nominated ‘Barbie’ is set to produce through LuckyChap in association with Lionsgate. The news was revealed during this year’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

In a statement, LuckyChap called the popular game “a highlight,” while Lionsgate chief Adam Fogelson said the company is “tremendously excited” to be working on what it believes will be Robbie’s “next blockbuster.”

As the Guardian reports the production company was founded by the Australian star and her husband Tom Ackerley and has been behind films such as ‘I, Tonya’, ‘Promising Young Woman’ and ‘Saltburn’, as well as the TV series ‘Maid ” and “Dollface”.

However, a highlight was the production of the phenomenon film “Barbie” in 2023, which grossed more than $1.4 billion at the global box office and was nominated for eight Oscars. Also her new comedy ‘My Old Ass’ premiered at Sundance to positive reviews and has been picked up by Amazon for release.

LuckyChap has taken on the upcoming Christmas comedy ‘Naughty’ directed by Olivia Wilde and the production of ‘The Sims’ movie based on the iconic video game.
