As she prepares for the release of her sixth studio album, “Funk Generation”, Anitta gave fans a taste of what’s to come.
This Wednesday (17), the singer released the cover of her new work, in which she appears wearing short denim pieces and lots of accessories with stones and sparkles, including a headpiece with long strips of stones.
The setting is reminiscent of a community at night, with house lights on and a metal fence where the singer poses. The photo is signed by fashion photographer Richie Talboy and creative direction is by Franc Fernandez, designer responsible for the iconic meat dress worn by Lady Gaga at the 2010 VMAs.
The new album hits platforms on April 26th, at 1am. On social media, Anitta spoke about her new work and stated that she was reclaiming her origins in Rio funk.
“Funk Generation is an album in which I celebrate my roots. It’s where I express the power of Rio funk in each track — unique, danceable and sensual beats. It’s a rhythm born in the favelas, where I grew up, that exudes resistance and art in every communities”, wrote the singer.
Anitta also announced the Baile Funk Experience international tour, which will visit the United States, Mexico, Argentina, England, Germany, France, Holland, Italy and Spain.
