“Urgent warning” was forced to issue the Lloyds Bank after a fraud victimized more than 600 of her customers-fans Taylor Swift– who were desperately looking to buy tickets for her sold out concerts in the UK, as the “Guardian” writes.

With the superstar expected to arrive in Europe next month, Britain’s central bank said its figures suggest UK fans have lost more than £1m so far to scammers!

If data from other banks is also presented, the total number of victims will exceed 3,000. According to Lloyds each victim – on average – lost £332, although some paid far more expensive fake tickets, reaching £1,000.

An investigation found that most of the victims are young people aged 25-34, whom the fraudsters approached via social media. Lloyds has announced that it is investigating the issue of fake concert tickets, as there were similar incidents last summer at performances by other popular artists.

Swift will play a whopping 15 concerts in the UK, including eight nights at London’s Wembley Stadium, as well as three in Liverpool, three in Edinburgh and one in Cardiff.

Scammers use every possible online medium to mislead their victims. A Facebook post or Marketplace listing can lead some to wire money into a bank account, waiting in vain for the coveted ticket.
