The 2020 winner, Daniela from Chile, has revealed that it took her time to come to terms with the facts before going public with her illness
Celebrity model and reigning Miss Universe Daniela Nicholas, 31, has revealed she is ‘battling’ cervical cancer in a shocking video shared on social media.
The stunning beauty queen admitted to followers that she had been hiding her diagnosis for “months”, candidly admitting that she didn’t feel up to talking about it in public as she struggled to come to terms with what was happening to her.
Daniela, who competed as Miss Chile in the Miss Universe 2020 pageant, held in 2021 after delays due to the COVID pandemic, explained in the clip she shared with her 600,000 Instagram followers that she did not want her illness to be known.
“I haven’t been having a good time in the last few months,” he said characteristically.

“It’s been a bit of a rough few months, a bit chaotic, a bit sad, and before I could talk to you, I had to be okay first, and I really wasn’t.”
Speaking about her decision to finally speak out, Nicolas explained that she wanted to make sure the news of her diagnosis was shared in her own words so it wouldn’t be misinterpreted or misunderstood.
“If it’s going to be released, I’d rather it be released responsibly,” he continued.
“I wanted to keep it between my friends and family,” he said, among other things
