‘I gave a book called ‘Monkeys’ to learn about black people’, says Dona Déa about Yasmin Brunet

BBB 24 ended last Tuesday (16), but the controversies involving the participants of the Globo reality show continue. Who doesn’t remember the discomfort between Yasmin Brunet and Dona Déa on Domingão com Huck right after her sister’s elimination? Paulo Gustavo’s mother, who was heavily criticized for speaking about structural racism and insinuating prejudice in the box with Davi, was questioned again about the confusion. She said she doesn’t regret the episode.

“I would say it all over again and much more. I’m not afraid, I’ve been through so much in my life, that anything that happens or talks about me doesn’t worry me. If it were something serious or if I had done a great injustice, Maybe I would reflect and even ask for forgiveness”, he acknowledged. “But saying all that… No. And I said a lot more, which wasn’t on television”, he commented in an interview with the Conexão Entrevista channel.

Déa also remembered the gift she gave to Luiza Brunet’s daughter and it was not shown on the program. “I gave a book called ‘Macacos’, by Clayton Nascimento, to the person [Yasmin Brunet] learn about black people. I would say it all again. I speak here and I will speak tomorrow and the day after tomorrow… I will speak because my life is a constant fight”, she said.

She also commented on Davi’s victory in Big Brother Brasil 2024: “I loved it [o resultado do BBB24]! I wanted to see Davi, in fact all three of them: him, the gaucho Matteus and Isabelle in the final. It’s very important to have a black [campeão], after so much suffering. Even I almost got beaten because of him.”
