THE George R.P. Martinauthor of the fantasy epic “The Song of Fire and Ice”, on which the popular TV series was based Game of Thrones (GoT) will work with Marvel in a new project.
The cooperation concerns the production New series of comic books based on the “Wild Cards” superhero anthology, compiled and edited by Martin.
The line Wild Cards tells the story of an alternative chronicle, in which the Earth hosts people with superpowers and includes more than 25 novels and 20 short stories.
It was written by more than 40 authors over a period of three decades and the limited series “Wild Cards: Drawing Of The Cards” will be released later this year.
Marvel announced through its official website that the first issue of comic books is expected to be released in June.
“As my fans may already know, Wild Cards World holds a special place in my heart,” said Martin.
“Thus, having the privilege of announcing that an industry titan like Marvel will create the narrative from scratch, as a comic, gives me endless joy,” he added.
The most famous project of George R.R. Martin’s “Game Of Thrones” ended its hugely successful run in 2019 and HBO is currently developing spin-offs, including a prequel series to air next year
