THE internationally renowned sculptor and painter Kostis Georgiou after his large retrospective exhibition at the Foundation of Greater Hellenism “Hellenic World”, which was crowned with great success and with the attendance of thousands of spectators, and then his particularly successful solo exhibition at Kapopoulos Fine Arts in Kolonaki, he is coming back dynamically to the international scene and familiar waters.

The artist is launching his new collaboration with Belair Fine Arts – Kapopoulos Fine Arts and as part of the 60th Venice Biennale that opened its doors on April 20, 2024 Kostis Georgiou’s monumental sculpture “Equus” will be exhibited at the Giardini Marinaressa until the end of the Biennale in November.

Also, his monumental sculptures “Corpus” and “Eutopia” will be exhibited until the end of November at the main entrance of Palazzo Mora as part of the wide world exhibition organized by the European Cultural Center (ECC) under the general title “Personal Structures”. Every two years in the framework of the Venice Biennale and the ECC pioneering artists, photographers and academic institutions are invited to explore themes of Time, Space and Existence, offering diverse perspectives on contemporary art. By encouraging inclusion and dialogue, the project aims to inspire new ideas and experiences accessible to all.

During the same period and under the organization of Belair Fine Arts and Kapopoulos Fine Arts, works by the artist are now exhibited in the permanent exhibition of Belair Fine Arts in Venice.

As is known, the Biennale is a pole of attraction for thousands of artists, collectors and art lovers from all over the world. The grand opening and cocktail party at Giardini Marinaressa for VIP guests and collectors took place on April 18th from 11am to 7pm. The interest was unprecedented, the traffic impressive and the reviews rave.

At Palazzo Mora the opening for collectors and vip took place on April 20th. The attendance was so great, to the point that it was extremely difficult to move the visitors. The standard of the exhibits and participating artists is extremely high, with names dominating the international art scene.

A luxurious 600-page album has been published.

Kostis Georgiou has held over 150 individual and 400 group exhibitions in important museums and galleries in Greece and abroad. Prominent Greek and foreign art historians, the Greek and international press have dealt with his work and there have been tributes and interviews in television networks, newspapers and magazines, while more than 50 albums have been published that refer to his work.
His works are in museums and private collections around the world. His works have also been auctioned at Sotheby’s, Bonham’s and Christie’s.

At the same time, Kostis Georgiou is preparing for his solo exhibition, with paintings and monumental sculptures, at the Art Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair 2024 in Thessaloniki with the Agathi Kartalos gallery, from May 23 to 26.
