Fans of the legendary band flocked to Houston’s NRG Stadium wearing macho t-shirts with the band’s famous lips and tongue logo.

The band, formed over six decades ago, opened the concert with their song “Start me up” and Mick Jagger appearing on stage in a shiny, striped jacket, a sequined maco and black jeans. The crowd immediately started dancing to this 1981 song.

Jagger, 80, danced, jumped and ran up and down the stage and sang with the remaining band members – 80-year-old Keith Richards and 76-year-old Ronnie Wood.

Although the band’s PR team declined to give a number of tickets snapped up, ticketing website StubHub noted that two hours before the show less than 2% of total tickets were available.

The band gathered people of all ages in the stadium with most of them being over 60 years old.

The 18 songs performed by the band over two hours included a mix of their classic hits and three songs from their latest album “Hackney Diamonds”their first album of original material since 2005 and also their first since the death of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.

Among their acclaimed hits were ‘Jumping Jack Flash’, ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ and ‘Out of Time’.

The band closed the show with success “(I can’t get no) Satisfaction” and this week he will be at the Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans for a special appearance.
