Wong replaces guitarist Jeff Schroeder, who joined the Smashing Pumpkins in 2006 and left the band in October 2023
The Smashing Pumpkins hire Kiki Wong as their new guitarist. The rock band announced last week that Kiki Wong, a Los Angeles-based musician who plays for the band Vigil of Warwill be his new guitarist on tour.
Wong replaces guitarist Jeff Schroeder, who joined the Smashing Pumpkins in 2006 and left the band in October 2023.

The Smashing Pumpkins announced an open audition for a new guitarist in early January. The band later announced that they received over 10,000 nominations and hired eight full-time staff to screen the auditionees.
“It wasn’t an easy decision as we’ve been lucky enough to hear and see some great guitarists over the last few months. I was a fan of Kiki’s before she was nominated and it’s great that someone with such insight will be part of our tour family.” said Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan.
“I can’t wait to hit the road with Kiki as part of our crazy circus. It’s definitely an exciting time for The Smashing Pumpkins to be busy touring in 2024. We’ll see you all this summer!” he added.

Wong will join Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha, Jack Bates and Katie Cole on Smashing Pumpkins’ upcoming tour “World is a Vampire”.
