Karditsa is one of the most lively cities in Thessaly and is a destination for “Neighborhoods in Piato» and Dimitris Skarmoutsos this Saturday, May 25 at 4:45 p.m. on SKAI. A city with beautiful buildings, large green spaces, countless bicycles and many culinary secrets waiting to be discovered.
The tour starts from “Pausilipon”, the beautiful, green park of 50 acres located in the center of the city. There, the old municipal refreshment room was transformed by Apostolis into an excellent all day restaurant which serves breakfast, brunch and casual food during the day while offering more fine dining options in the evening.

The trip to Karditsa is the ideal opportunity for a visit to the state-of-the-art facilities of the company that bottles and distributes the award-winning “Theoni” water. They are located in Mouzaki and bottle water that springs at an altitude of 1,100m. at the natural source of Goura, in the Agrafa mountain range!
We continue with “Apomero”, a special and “homely” restaurant. Entering it, the visitor feels as if entering the living room of a house. This is exactly how Tasoula imagined her shop and built it almost 3 decades ago. A beautiful and cozy shop with a home-cooked menu based on excellent Greek ingredients.
Having decided not to move only within the city, we visit “Bogiatzis” which is located in Karditsomagoula, a nice area just outside of Karditsa. It is an old tavern with local cuisine and traditional recipes. It is famous for its handmade pies, lamb with spinach and the regional specialty, duck crab.
The return to the Athens studio brings two more special recipes from Dimitris Skarmoutsos: muffins with spinach, yogurt and feta cheese
and Chicago / Deep Dish Pizza.
