Kourtney Kardashian, 45, responded to questions from followers on her social media about her experience with in vitro fertilization.
Mother of little Rocky Thirteen, six months old, with her current husband, Travis Barker, Kourtney revealed that the journey to getting pregnant was not easy at all.
“I stopped after a year of trying. It took three egg collections and five IVF cycles [fertilização in vitro] frustrated,” said Kourtney in response to a follower who asked how to find the strength to carry on with the attempts.
“My body relaxed and believed in God’s plans for my life. I prayed a lot for whatever was best for us and optimized my health as much as possible. I know how much it hurts to feel like you’re not trying, but to believe in God’s plans It’s powerful,” wrote the first-born of the Kardashians.
In addition to her youngest, born in November, Kourtney is mother to Mason, 14, Penelope, 11, and Reign, 9, with ex-husband Scott Disick. The Blink-182 drummer is the father of Landon, 20, and Alabama, 18.
The model reported that the pregnancy came naturally when the couple had already stopped trying and it was “like a miracle”.
“We stopped doing IVF cycles two months before the wedding. It took a year for all the hormones and medications to leave my body. We weren’t trying anymore, I wasn’t even checking my ovulation anymore. We decided to put it in God’s hands and accept that maybe it wasn’t going to happen. And suddenly… God’s plans”, narrated Kourtney.
During her pregnancy, Kourtney still faced obstacles. The pregnancy was risky and the baby needed to undergo surgery inside the uterus.
