Her singing competition Eurovision which took place this year in Malmö, Sweden ended with the winning country of Switzerland and Nemo and now we are waiting to find out which of the candidate cities will take over the next event.

So while waiting – approximately until the end of the summer – and while all the candidate cities have received the special file with the necessary specifications of the EBU so that the competition can be held properly, it was learned how much it cost the Swedish authorities to keep the consignments and also of the building facilities, Eurovision Village, hotels and stadiums throughout this year Eurovision 2024.

Sweden’s Chief of Administration, Per Engström, as it became known yesterday handed over a first assessment to Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer, clarifying that it is approximate and that the final bill will be slightly higher when the final calculations are made.

And according to a Swedish radio station, the cost exceeds 22,000,000 Swedish kroner. That is, not a little, not a lot (very definitely), 1,932,810 Euros!

In Malmo there were police everywhere

About 1,500 police officers were on site during the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo with more than half commuting there from other parts of the country while some – not many around 50 – came from Norway and Denmark.

The whole operation was one of the biggest that the Swedish police has done in years. But it was absolutely necessary, especially after the reactions there were to Israel’s participation and the fears of a possible terrorist attack on the days of the competition.
