Singer Halsey reveals she is sick and releases album: ‘I’m lucky to be alive’

At 29, Halsey is feeling like “an old lady.” On her Instagram profile, the American singer revealed that she is treating an illness and that she is lucky to be alive.

She did not make the diagnosis clear, but marked two institutions in the post, one for leukemia and the other for lupus. Along with the revelation, the singer announced the release of her fifth studio album, called “The End”.

In the publication, made this Tuesday (4), Halsey showed stages of the treatment, such as hair loss, body pain and also the process of composing the new work.

In the caption, she wrote: “Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive. Long story short, I wrote an album. It starts with ‘The End’. It’s out now.”

“I feel like an old lady,” says the singer in the video. “I told myself that I only have two more years to be sick. When I reach 30 I will have a renaissance, I won’t be sick, I will be super hot, have a lot of energy and live like I lived in my 20s,” she said.

In the lyrics of the single that gives the album its name, Halsey sings: “Every two years, a doctor says I’m sick / Pulls out a new bag of tricks and then they put it on me / In the beginning, it was my brain / Then a skeleton with pain.”
