Studio Galazio and director Christopher André Marks have announced the creation of a new production company which will present to the world common projects inspired by Greek themes.

“We are excited to shed additional light and join the wave of momentum that Greek cinema has created internationally, not only as a high-value filming location for domestic and foreign productions, but also as a fertile ground for original stories that go far beyond his border” said the producer and director.

The new company’s debut will be an Ocean’s Eleven-style heist comedy set in Greece, with two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo set to produce.

Although plot details as well as the cast are being kept under wraps, filming is expected to begin this year.

The as-yet-untitled film will be written and directed by Marks alongside a team of veteran producers including Shani Hinton, Raphaël Benoliel, Adam B. Stern and Erica Aronson (Erika Aronson).

Also in Studio Galazio’s new plans are a drama series and an untitled biopic about an influential Greek figure, all featuring high-profile talent, according to Variety.
