Actress Whoopi Goldberg was moved to tears when she reunited part of the cast of the film “Mudança de Hábito 2: Mais Loucuras no Convento” (1993) and reinterpreted the classics from the film’s soundtrack, which celebrates 30 years of its release.
In a meeting broadcast on ABC, she, dressed as the character Deloris Van Cartier, saw up close the interpretations of the songs “Oh Happy Day” and “Joyful, Joyful”, made by some of the actors who were part of the film’s youth choir (see below).
For the first song, it was Ryan Toby who led the presentation, an actor who played the role of Ahmal 30 years ago. In the second, the person responsible for the rereading was Tanya Trotter. In the film, Lauryn Hill sang, but she did not participate in the event.
At the end, both Goldberg and those present were moved and cried. There is an expectation that the actress will star in a third film in the franchise, although there is still no date for it to be ready. The first steps in this development have already been taken, according to Variety.
Names such as Kathy Najimy, Wendy Makkena, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Monica Calhoun, Alex Martin, David Kater, Frank Odell Howard, Dionna Nichelle, Jermaine Montell and Deondray Gossfield participated in the meeting.
