It was exactly that year that beloved comedian Despina Stylianopoulou had managed to “fit” 12 different films in just 365 days.

The leader of the troupe at the Avlaia theater in Piraeus for many years, a “live action actress”, as her autobiography is exactly titled, today at the age of 91, “her last bow”.

He studied voice at the Hellenic Conservatory and theater at the Dimitris Rodiris Drama School, from which he graduated in 1959. He appeared for the first time in the cinema in 1960, in the film Xenos tis nochtas and has since established himself in comic roles.

Her most common role was that of the provincial housekeeper who made linguistic mistakes. She also played the popular girl in non-lead roles. 1967 was considered by many artistic circles as “the year of Stylianopoulos” because she herself had participated in 12 different films during the year.

The beloved actress who associated her name with the “golden ages” of Greek cinema, was recently hospitalized in a private rehabilitation clinic.

In a statement released by her family at the time, she spoke of her fragile health, due to “multiple health issues arising from her advanced age.”

Her niece, Anna Stylianopoulou, speaking on a television show, said that her aunt has a serious infection and is “psychologically devastated” to have lost her friends. “The biggest shock for my aunt was the loss of Mary Chronopoulou (in October 2013) who were friends. This cost her a lot,” said Anna Stylianopoulou.
