Friends is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and Jennifer Aniston couldn’t hold back the tears when she reflected on the hit series during a chat with Quinta Branson.

The famous actress, who owes much of her career to her role as Rachel Green on the popular series, was visibly emotional on the latest episode of Variety’s ‘Actors On Actors’ show on YouTube.

The discussion also included references to Matthew Perry, who passed away last October. When asked about the series, Aniston responded with emotion: “don’t make me cry».

A few seconds later, she couldn’t hold back her tears, interrupting the broadcast and asking production for a tissue.

Recalling the day the show premiered, Aniston said: “It’s so weird to think it’s been 30 years».

She vividly remembers the day the series premiered on NBC, when she and Matthew Perry were enjoying lunch and knew Lisa Kudrow was going to dye her hair. “We ran into the hair salon and I sneaked over – she was at the sink – and took the faucet from the guy who was supposed to do it and started washing her hair. It definitely got out of hand, and that was unfortunate. But the excitement we had seems like yesterdays”, he remembers.

Speaking about her co-stars, Aniston said: “They are a forever family».
