“Greece is full of enchanting places for peaceful moments and hikes. From the hypnotic Cycladic gems to the unspoiled parts of the Ionian, this summer will be unforgettable in 16 recommended Greek islands that offer experiences without crowds” report the British Times regarding the established list of non-conventional Greek destinations that they announce every year. The top three of the list are made up of the beautiful Aeginathe Astypalea for unexpected discoveries and the Miss you of myths and legends. They are followed by Man’s which stands out in Greece for its authenticity, the sunsets in Folegandrosthe volcanic Nisyrosthe Syros of culture and the Meganisi for quiet getaways. The list is completed by Alonissos with the wonderful natural marine park, the Fish hook which combines city and sea, the Milos with the eerie landscapes, the Patmos with the impressive beaches, the Kythera with the wild natural beauty, the Kastelorizo for explorations at the edge of Greece, the Serif of couples and the “delicious” Sifnos with the gastronomy festival that takes place every September.

Representatives of the destinations on the list highlight this season:

“A tourist year is predicted with high rates of foreign visitors. At the same time, according to a large booking platform, Leipsi are in 6th place among the top vacation trends of Greeks. Our effort to develop and promote a sustainable destination that keeps its natural environment intact is completely in line with the characteristics of our time,” says mayor of Lipsi Fotis Mangos.

“Alonissos is developing into a “magnet” for lovers of activities, relaxation and rejuvenation. Quality services without unreasonable costs, local cuisine, wonderful exotic beaches, diving, nature worship, and excursions to the marine park are our “passport” for a place on the “map” of international non-mass destinations. This year’s distinctions that we have achieved in popular foreign media prove the extroversion of Alonissos in new as well as established markets that show their preference for 2024″, said president of the Tourist Committee of the municipality of Alonissos Diogenes Theodorou.

“Astypalaia means sustainability, tradition and nature. We create and promote a new destination model where the visitor enjoys turquoise waters, fairytale settlements, historical monuments and homely hospitality with modern sustainable terms. It is this combination that attracts tourism from Europe, America and many distant countries”, noted Mr Deputy Mayor of Astypalaia Kostas Kampyli.

“Andros has quality constants that make it an oasis of authenticity next to Athens without a high price. The continuous alternation of mountainous landscape with pristine beaches, the gastronomy, and the range of villages, monasteries and paths give a different perspective of the Cyclades. Visitation has strengthened outside of peak season, a trend we seek to maintain,” added Mr mandated municipal councilor for Tourism of Andros municipality Nikos Moustakas.

“The messages about the tourist season in Sifnos are positive. Gastronomy together with pottery, nature, trails, sea excursions and traditions make up the “DNA” of the destination. We give importance to cultural, sports and culinary initiatives that contribute to the expansion of the tourist season, such as the Cycladic Gastronomy Festival Nikolaos Tselemendes”, pointed out Deputy Mayor of Tourism of the municipality of Sifnos, Yiannis Rafeletos.
