Preta Gil remains hospitalized for treatment of a urinary tract infection due to a kidney stone. The singer is at Clínica São Vicente, in Gávea, in the south of Rio.
This Saturday (8), the artist’s team posted a statement informing that Preta is well and will soon return to her professional commitments.
“We inform you that the artist Preta Gil is admitted to the Clinica São Vicente hospital, in Rio de Janeiro, for treatment of a urinary infection caused by a kidney stone. Due to this, the artist had to cancel her show schedule this weekend at Presença Festival and Festival Save the South.”
“Preta is well, receiving medical care, and will soon return to her professional commitments”, says the note.
Due to her health problem, she canceled all the shows she was going to do this weekend. In December 2023, Preta completed her treatment for bowel cancer. She had part of her intestinal tract surgically reconstructed.
At the time, the singer informed that she would spend the next five years undergoing medical monitoring, “as is common for cancer patients like me”, she said.
