Kevin Spacey revealed in a new interview that he was “reaching out more than he should have,” while admitting there were times he overstepped the mark.

The actor won a civil action in the US after being accused of making unwanted sexual advances at a party in 1986 and was acquitted at Southwark Crown Court last year. Four men took him to court and accused him of sexual assault between 2001 and 2013.

He has always denied any criminal offense and any accusation of misconduct. In an interview with Piers Morgan, Spacey said he had “crossed the line” in the past.

When asked how, he told Morgan: “Being overly friendly, touching someone sexually in a way that I didn’t know at the time that they didn’t want. I’ve petted people, I’ve been nice to people, that’s my way.”the actor emphasized.

And the actor continued: “You approach someone, you don’t want to be aggressive. You want to be kind. You want to see if he will respond positively. He should let you know he doesn’t want to do something, so that someone knows it’s not consensual and you stop.”

The actor also said his home is being auctioned off to pay legal fees incurred following sexual harassment allegations made against him.

He said: “This week, the house where I lived in Baltimore went into foreclosure, my house was auctioned off.

I have to go back to Baltimore and put all my stuff in storage. So the answer to that question is that I’m not quite sure where I’m going to live now, but I’ve been in Baltimore since we started filming House of Cards. I moved there in 2012.”

When asked why she was selling the house, she replied with tears in her eyes: “I can’t pay the bills I owe.

“At times I thought I was going to file for bankruptcy, but we’ve somehow managed to avoid that, at least until today.”

Spacey said he is owed several million dollars and appeared emotional at several points during his lengthy interview.

He was fired from Netflix’s “House of Cards” when the 2017 allegations surfaced during the show’s sixth season, and was later dropped from “All the Money in the World” and replaced with Christopher Plummer, the who had to reshoot scenes at the last minute.

The actor also denied new allegations of misconduct aired in a Channel 4 documentary called ‘Spacey Unmasked’, which he criticized.

A spokesperson for Channel 4 said: “‘Spacey Unmasked’ is an important film that explores the balance of power and misbehavior in a workplace, with the goal of giving a voice to those previously unable to speak.”

In 2022, Spacey was sued in London’s High Court by a man who claimed he had been sexually assaulted by Spacey and suffered “psychiatric damage”.

Celebrities including Sharon Stone, Liam Neeson and Stephen Fry campaigned for his return to acting in statements to the Telegraph newspaper in May.

Spacey has two Academy Awards, for Best Supporting Actor for The Usual Suspect in 1996 and Best Actor in 2000 for American Beauty, which also earned him a Bafta.
