Her album is out and it’s good. The former singer of Fifth Harmony, Normanireturned to the world of music with her new album, “Dopamine”her first full-length project since the girl group that catapulted her to stardom disbanded in 2018.

The album defines Normani’s signature sound, which is rooted in R&B with pop and rock influences. In a stunning debut project, the star reveals intimate details about a “situational relationship” and embraces sex in an empowering and playful way. She begs her listener, several times, to jump out of their chair and dance.

While the record may have some “weak” spots, overall it serves as a resounding statement that Normani is still that girl, one whose confidence is as intimidating as it is inspiring.

This album comes after a series of personal challenges for Normani, whose parents both battled cancer in the years since her tenure with the band Fifth Harmony. Understandably, it took her time to develop her sound due to various obstacles.

Her song ‘Wild Side’ featuring Cardi B, which became a huge hit in 2021, rounds out the album.
