Alongside security guards and attended mostly by children, Felipe Neto arrived at the event that Globo promotes in Rio de Janeiro. Without giving interviews to journalists who were following the lecture, the YouTuber took the opportunity to criticize pastor André Valadão, from the Lagoinha church.

Last week, the faithful used the pulpit to advise parents not to let their children attend universities. “People like him help us see everything we have to do in reverse, I feel sorry that we have to have this type of speech validated on social media. Someone openly says this, offends and nothing happens. It’s freedom of expression that calls, right, influencing parents not to send their children to college”, he said during the LED festival, which F5 followed.

At the time, Valadão stated that college will end his son’s life. “Go sell popsicles in the garage. Did you raise your son to go to hell? Did you raise your daughter to become a slut?”

Neto said that digital influencers have to understand the responsibility of their positions and that showing everyday life and making people laugh is not everything.

“Anitta learned this when she decided to speak out in 2018, [que] Your position as a singer brings with it responsibilities that you either admit or don’t touch on certain themes in your songs. You can’t play just to make a profit, you have to play to talk. Being an influencer is not just about having millions of followers and being funny, you have to carry that responsibility”, he added.

He said that his Vero Institute will promote, next year, media and digital education classes in schools in Brazil, mainly public ones.
