Yiannis Spaliaras is one of the biggest names in the field of modeling in Greece, but for years now he has been active as an actor, having even participated in some foreign productions. The 49-year-old (Yes, yes, you read that right) actor now spoke in “Well” which is out now and it was revealing.

  • Despite your 49 years, you are kept in perfect physical condition. What’s your secret?

“It’s definitely my dna, because everyone in my family keeps fit. Also, the fact that I’ve been working out since fourth grade plays a role. I also take care of my diet without exaggerating and in general I am a person who thinks positively, so good psychology also helps with external appearance”

  • In our minds, the name Spaliaras is identified with a divine body and the truth is that no one has reached this

“Body and Spaliaras, I think there is an identification. This is pleasant. Gymnastics has always been an outlet for me. I never went to training with a heavy heart, I did it with fun.

The fact that I am 49 years old and have no white hair in my hair is not something that was out of my hands, it is also a matter of DNA. So some things I have worked on and others are a matter of luck. It’s nice that men and women tell me they follow me and I motivate them to take up fitness”

  • The advice you would give to the audience that follows you?

“I’m not a dieter. It is good for everyone to exercise all year round. Usually Greek men and women go berserk in May and run to nutritionists. You can’t do many things at the last minute.

It is good that they enter this process all year round. Also, if you get into that hole it’s not that hard. It’s a little awkward at first. Then it becomes a way of life. For me it’s a way of life, I can’t help but go. Exercising is a nice addiction I have”

  • Can you say that you are among the well-paid in your field of work today?

“In the two productions I did abroad as an actor, in Iran and Mexico, the fees I got were equivalent to their production. In other words, very good, without wanting to go into details about numbers and amounts.”

  • Is it true that for two hours of photography you could have received 20,000 euros?

“Yes, this used to happen to me when I was working as a model. I had received 20,000 euros from a global campaign for sunglasses in Sardinia. But they are jobs that happen 2-3 times in your career, at least in mine. This is not the everyday life of modeling.

I had traveled business class and it was a shocking experience. What I vividly remember was that George Clooney also participated in this campaign with me and after I finished shooting in the pool, I see the technicians building a house.

I ask them what they are making and they answer me that we are going to photograph Clooney in there, there is no other way. “If he shows up in the pool like you, the photo shoot will never happen” they answered me honestly. Of course you understand what sizes we are talking about. They made a whole structure for him so that he would not be noticed by anyone who was there in the area”

  • With all that you do professionally, do you find time for your personal life?

“Yes, of course I find time for my personal life”

  • It was recently heard that you got engaged, is that true?

“No, no, I’m not engaged. We don’t think like that. We enjoy our relationship and have a good time. In Greece, when they see a couple together, everyone asks when they will get married and have children”

  • However, you have stated in the past that you would like to have a family…

“Yeah, I’m not against it, it’s just not something I’m thinking about right now. I let life flow beautifully and as things come”
