Mel Maia denounces deepfake after alleged intimate video leaked

The name of actress Mel Maia, 20, became one of the most talked about topics on X after an alleged intimate video was leaked. In the images, a woman with a face similar to hers appears having sexual relations with William Sousa Guedes, a drug trafficking boss known as Corolla, arrested last Wednesday (3) in Jacarezinho, in the north zone of Rio de Janeiro, while visiting his family.

On social media, the actress denied that it was her and claimed that it was a montage. “Everyone knows that it’s a video, it’s from artificial intelligence, but everyone insists on saying that it’s real. Do you think that in all conscience I would let someone make a video of me like that?”, she began in her outburst.

“People have already invented that I died, that I hit a photographer, that I spat on a fan, they have already invented terrifying things about me. They have even made a montage of me naked. I have been in the business since I was 5 years old and I am forced to see atrocities about myself on the internet. It will be like this until the end of my career,” added the actress.

Cases of deepfakes or deepnudes have affected celebrities. In addition to Mel, other names have already been involved in montages that put faces in real videos, such as Taylor Swift, Anitta and Scarlett Johansson.
