Armando Babaioff, 43, added fuel to the fire against the casting of influencers in soap operas. The actor highlighted the importance of specialized professionals in productions. “I don’t understand. At this stage of the game, they replace talented people to put someone who is known on the internet and who is not their thing,” Babaioff explained.
The actor said he feels frustrated to see that influencers do not contribute to the profession he chose. “Do you know what makes me the angriest about all this? It’s that these people do absolutely nothing for the profession,” he said during an interview with the program Sem Censura.
He said he will continue to fight for the appreciation of professional actors in the market. “I feel responsible for continuing this work that is passed on to us every day by our colleagues. People who look at us and say: ‘keep going, my son'”, the actor emphasized. Babaioff’s last work on television was in 2019, in the soap opera ‘Bom Sucesso’, on Globo.
Recently, Cláudia Abreu, 53, also commented on the subject. For the actress who plays Chayene in “Cheias de Charme”, hiring influencers in soap operas is a passing phenomenon. “Time will take care of this. I think this is a current phenomenon and I don’t think it will last. Art is very strong and it resists. I am very calm”, said the actress, in an interview with Rádio Metrópole.
