Conmebol did not make much of a mystery regarding the musical attraction for the 2024 Copa América final. The entity chose singer Shakira and made the announcement this Tuesday (8). The decision will take place on Sunday, at 9 pm (Brasília time), at the Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami, United States. “Shakira is a South American star who dazzled the entire world”, began Alejandro Domínguez, president of the association.
He continued to praise the singer in the official statement: “Her songs are sung and danced in every corner of the planet, making her art a global phenomenon that crosses borders and is enjoyed by millions of people. We are certain that her performance on the Copa América stage will enhance the message of healthy passion and unity through sport.”
The setlist for Shakira’s show has not yet been announced. She has been living in Miami for a year. She left Barcelona, Spain, after her separation from former soccer player Gerard Piqué. The two announced the end of their 12-year marriage in June 2022, after he cheated on her with his current girlfriend Clara Chía.
The Copa América final has not yet been decided. Argentina will face Canada this Tuesday at 9pm (Brasília time) at MetLife Stadium in the first semi-final, and Uruguay will play Colombia tomorrow at the same time at Bank of America Stadium. The match will decide the second finalist.
