Weston Cage, 33, son of actor Nicolas Cage, was charged and arrested for assaulting his mother, actress Christina Fulton, last Wednesday (10). On the same day, his father took US$ 150 thousand (around R$ 816 thousand) for bail and the heir was released.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to People magazine that Weston was arrested on a warrant stemming from an “incident that occurred earlier this year,” which would have been on April 28.
Weston reportedly got into an argument with his mother at her home in Los Angeles. “During the incident, Cage struck both victims multiple times, causing injuries,” the Los Angeles Police Department told People. Christina was later seen with bruises on her face.
Justifying the bruises, the actress published a statement saying that her son suffered from mental health problems: “On April 28th, I was approached by Weston’s best friends to help him with a mental health crisis.” “I found my son in a clear state of mental breakdown, which ended up resulting in a terrible experience,” she wrote.
