American musician and singer Kid Rock donated $50,000 to the crowdfunding platform GoFundMe to an account set up for the victims of the armed attack against former US President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

A bystander was killed and two others were seriously injured in an assassination attempt on Trump, the 45th president of the United States and the 2024 Republican presidential nominee, early Sunday.

Trump, 78, was treated for a gunshot wound to his ear and released from the hospital.

Kid Rock is a staunch supporter of the US Republican Party.

In the same account for the victims of the attack, sums of money have been deposited by the American businessman and author Vivek Ramaswamy, the podcaster Ben Shapiro and the daughter of Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump. More than $3.5 million has been raised so far from 48,800 donors for “the families of the victims injured or killed in the brutal and horrific attempted murder,” according to the social media post.

“All donations will go to proud Americans who are grieving and recovering,” it said.
