The current singer of Iron MaidenBruce Dickinson and Paul DiAno, who originally held the same role in the band, met for the first time after the former’s concert in Zagreb, Croatia, last week.

Dickinson was in Zagreb for a concert with his solo band as part of the tour to promote his new album ‘The Mandrake Project’. As reported by Paul Di’Anno’s manager, Stepan Dzuras, the former Iron Maiden frontman coincidentally attended an event for his new band’s debut album, Paul Di’Anno’s Warhorse, after Dickinson’s appearance.

“When we thought nothing could surprise us anymore in the world of heavy metal, tonight’s ‘miracle’ in Zagreb proved us all wrong,” Dzuras wrote in a press release. “Paul Di Anno and Bruce Dickinson met for the first time and had a friendly chat in Zagreb.”

“It was a great opportunity for the two icons of heavy metal music and the legendary vocalists of the band Iron Maiden to meet for the first time in almost half a century. It’s a great night for the whole Iron Maiden community and for metal fans around the world, because it shows that Iron Maiden, and everyone who was in this band, is one big family.” he added.

Stepan Dzuras also recorded some brief footage of the meeting, which marks the Iron Maiden singers’ first face-to-face in more than four decades since Dickinson replaced Paul DiAno in 1981.

Di Anno has been dealing with serious health issues in recent years and almost stopped performing live in 2020.

But after creating the Warhorse project in 2021, he announced his return to the stage and the tour “The Beast Resurrection Tour” with “a goal to save his life and get out of the wheelchair”, as he explained.
