Narrator Galvão Bueno and gymnast Rebeca Andrade have already won gold medals in a very important competition: advertising. The two lead the list of sports figures with the most advertisers attached to them during the Paris Olympics.
The survey was carried out by F5considering active contracts for the Olympic period, in consultation with several advertising agencies and representatives of athletes and important names in the sport.
In total, Galvão has three sponsors for coverage on his YouTube channel, the GB channel: Betnacional, where he is already a poster boy; Corona beer; and the Havaianas sandal brand. In addition to this project, Galvão creates content in partnership with the COB (Brazilian Olympic Committee) and participates in Central Olímpica, Globo’s daily Olympic program.
Furthermore, after the Games, Galvão has already signed a contract with the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk, which manufactures the drug Ozenpic, indicated for the treatment of diabetes. There were talks for Novo Nordisk to announce it during the Olympics, which would make Galvão the leader in isolation.
Rebeca Andrade, the biggest name in Brazilian artistic gymnastics, also has three active sponsorship contracts for the Olympic Games and is the athlete with the most brands associated with her: Volvo, Havaianas and Parmalat are her partners.
Rebeca stands out for having done specific actions in the last few months, before the Games. In addition to the three mentioned, Rebeca has recently done commercials for Adidas, Panasonic, Riachuelo, Medley, Adidas, Invisalign, Sankhya, Vult and Bradesco.
Rebeca is, by far, the athlete who appears most in advertisements, while Galvão is the sports figure who leads this survey, surpassing important influencers on the internet, for example.
Bruno Maia, CEO of Feel The Match, a sports content specialist, and director of the series ‘Romário, O Cara’, by Max, explains why Galvão is so widely accepted in the advertising market.
“Galvão Bueno, in addition to his talent and competence in what he does, is a brand that has been built over 50 years. The timbre of his voice is another brand. And it is still strongly imprinted in the popular imagination, especially on television. He evokes memories, memories on a large scale among the population due to his projection on open TV all these years”, he states.
