Twenty-two years at SBT trained Eliana to be a strong female figure on Sundays on television, and she knew the steps by heart. Now, as the anchor of a women’s program, she says her daily exercise is to relax, even in front of the cameras.
“I like to innovate. I came from a children’s universe, made a transition and learned from the greatest television communicator, Silvio Santos,” she says. In the first week of August, she will debut on GNT, in Saia Justa, in the new formation of the traditional quartet. This year, the show reaches its 23rd season.
With different careers, she, Rita Batista, Tati Machado and Bela Gil will address different subjects, although each in their own way. “We are made of different experiences and triggers and, to talk about this, I had to prepare myself emotionally”, she says to F5 saying that topics about women seduce her more —although that’s not all.
“The public will get to know me as a mother, as a woman, much more. And we can talk about everything. If we want to talk nonsense, that’s our right. We don’t want to be right about everything, we want to think with our audience,” she says.
The quartet did not know each other before starring in the show and, to that end, they worked to reflect their rapport. This is an important point for Eliana, who says she believes that a good working relationship has to be external as well. She announced that she would be leaving SBT after 15 years of contract — this was her second stint at the network. In the first, she stayed for seven years.
To boost the new project she is leading, the presenter will interview celebrities and personalities for a segment on the program Fantástico, in all editions of August, as a preview for the chat of the week. The premiere of Saia Justa is scheduled for August 7th, at 10:30 pm, on GNT.
For her, the audience that has followed her for years will continue to follow her, even with the change of atmosphere, from more poised and correct to the fun version. The Sunday show gave way to reflections and a chat aimed at women, specifically, “to relax when they get home after a day of work”, she says.
The season’s episodes will be pre-recorded, either the day before they air or on the same afternoon. This was the way the production chose to deal with the conflicting schedules of the four. Rita continues to be on É De Casa on Saturdays and lives in Salvador, Tati participates in Encontro com PatrÃcia Poeta and Mais Você and Bela has restaurants.
“An hour long is very enjoyable. It’s very easy for me to prolong topics to yield results. Sometimes the conversation was so good that I didn’t want to take the next step, I wanted to keep talking.”
